Wallington Ofsted rating - outstanding

We are proud to share the exceptional outcome of the recent Ofsted inspection at Wallington High School for Girls. Following their visit on 18th and 19th March 2025, inspectors awarded the school Outstanding in every category: the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth form provision.

This judgement reflects the sustained commitment, expertise, and values-led leadership that define the school and its wider community. The inspection team recognised the ambitious curriculum, expert teaching, and inclusive ethos that underpin the school's culture of excellence — qualities that align closely with the Trust’s vision for high-quality and empowering education for girls.

Inspectors described pupils at Wallington as “safe, settled and happy,” with behaviour that is “exceptional.” They praised the respectful and uplifting relationships between students, and highlighted the school’s strong culture of academic aspiration, character development and mutual support.

The report also commends the depth of professional expertise among staff and the effectiveness of the school’s pastoral care. All students, including those with SEND, are supported to achieve exceptionally well — a testament to both high expectations and compassionate provision.

The school’s sixth form was recognised as outstanding, with inspectors noting that students are “brilliantly supported” in planning for their futures and benefit from “exceptional” guidance. The wide range of enrichment, leadership and co-curricular opportunities available was also celebrated.

Tracey O’Brien, Headteacher of Wallington High School for Girls, said:

“We are immensely proud of this outcome. It reflects the hard work, integrity and ambition of our entire school community. At Wallington, we are committed not only to academic success but to nurturing confident, curious and courageous young people. This report affirms that commitment, and we are excited to continue building on this success.”

On behalf of everyone in the Girls’ Learning Trust, we extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all the staff, students, governors, and parents who make Wallington High School for Girls such a special place to learn and grow.
