Nonsuch High School for Girls has been named State Secondary School of the Year in the Southeast 2026 by The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide, alongside being ranked an outstanding 13th nationally among more than 400 leading state secondary and grammar schools across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We are proud to share the exceptional outcome of the recent Ofsted inspection at Wallington High School for Girls. Following their visit on 18th and 19th March 2025, inspectors awarded the school Outstanding in every category: the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth form provision.
The Girls’ Learning Trust is looking for an exceptional leader to join our Trust Board as our new Chair, as our current Chair is due to stand down from the role in January 2026. We have recently approved a new strategy, setting out our education mission and purpose as an organisation and are seeking an individual to lead the strategic direction of our work as a Trust. We are also looking to recruit two additional Trustees at this time.

This Saturday, the 8th of March, is International Women’s Day. IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. As the Assistant Headteacher at Carshalton High School for Girls responsible for Student Culture and Ethos, IWD holds a special significance.
Stepping into headship at an all-girls selective school has been both an immense privilege and a profound responsibility. It is a role that carries the weight of shaping the next generation of female leaders while navigating the complexities of leadership as a woman myself.
International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate progress, reflect on challenges, and recognise the resilience of women across all walks of life. My own journey—from qualifying as a Chartered Accountant while pregnant to leading as a Trust CFO—has been shaped by determination, support networks, and a commitment to balancing career ambitions with family life.
International Women’s Day is a moment to reflect on the achievements of women worldwide and to celebrate the empowerment of the next generation. As the headteacher of a girls' grammar school, I am privileged to witness the transformation of young girls into confident, independent women ready to take on the world.
We're looking for a Trustee with expertise in finance to join our Trust Board and help us deliver our vision to be champions of excellence in girls’ education.
